Senior Portrait photo sessions can be a lot of fun, both for me and the client. I like to keep my photo sessions fun, light and with a relaxed attitude. I always strive to keep a good environment for my client so that to energy is good for everyone involved. I want my Senior client to make the photo session theirs. I invite the client and parents to share any ideas they have, sports, hobbies, school interests that we may incorporate into their session.
When you stop and think about it, the senior photo is a very important place mark in your history. A school yearbook is an everlasting time capsule of a student's journey through high school, documenting how you were at that time in your life.
Yes, parents will have the high school yearbook photo framed in the house for somewhere for years to come. Soon after the photo session, the client heads into their final year in high school. Then they move on to college, a career, the next chapter of their life. Once graduation happens, the yearbook and senior photo will soon be forgotten and stuffed in a box, until years down the road when you find it again, having realized they had achieved so much in between. A moment to be proud of how far you have come since your Senior days.
Senior photo sessions have a little more meaning than just taking a few shots. I work with my client to create an image that they choose to represent them, as they prepare to conclude their school years, about to embark on the rest of their lives.
A big Thank You, to my clients this year, and those from previous years, who have chosen to work with me and have allowed me to capture this traditionally important photographic moment of their lives, to capture this moment of transition from one stage to the next. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
